Jerry Shannon Carr, 49, of Lake View, Alabama, passed away on August 5, 2023, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Born on April 12, 1974, in Tuscaloosa, Jerry was a beloved son, brother, father, and uncle. He is survived by his daughters, Kylie N. Carr and Dakota S. Carr, as well as his nieces, April D. Barnette (J.D.) and Angela D. Adams (Danny) and their families. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Carr, and his sister, Sheila Carr Smith.
Jerry was a man who never met a stranger and had a gift for connecting with people. He was a great friend to many and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Jerry's love for his daughters was evident in every conversation he had, as he never missed an opportunity to talk about them. He also cherished his nieces, April and Angela, and their families, and took great pride in them.
In addition to his dedication to his family and friends, Jerry had a deep faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was an active member of Restoration Church in McCalla, Alabama, where he worshipped and served. Jerry's love for his church was evident in his involvement with the Men's Group, serving as the sound technician, and his dedication to the Royal Rangers program.
Jerry had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies. He found joy in camping, fishing, cooking, and following Alabama football. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his friends, church family and loved ones. Jerry's selflessness was evident in his willingness to help those in need without expecting anything in return. He had a genuine love for people and made a positive impact on everyone he encountered.
A Celebration of Life Service for Jerry Shannon Carr will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 6:00 pm at Restoration Church, located at 21406 Hwy 216, McCalla, Alabama 35111. This service will honor Jerry's life and the legacy he leaves behind.
Jerry Shannon Carr will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His infectious smile, kind heart, and unwavering faith will forever be remembered.
